Yesterday’s budget promised “a one-off £400m “bonus” to help schools buy “the little extras they need” this year”.
Note that this CANNOT be used for staffing – only one-off purchases (such as toilet rolls which some schools have asked parents for help to buy).
So – since this is a “one-off” “bonus” they will be able to afford toilet roll this year, but next year will be back to begging again.
Not exactly a proper solution to the schools funding crisis.
The best solution would be to stop diverting education funds to their pet projects like Free Schools or Grammar Schools or Academy Schools all of which take a disproportionate share of the education budget (and have been shown to deliver worse quality overall), and put the funding back where it started.

A good idea for schools to buy them in advance in case a no-deal Brexit cuts off supplies!
