  1. It just goes to show just how bad things have got when “Rotten to the core” doesn’t even come close to describing the depths to which the UK Government and the Tory Party have sunk.

This really only covers the lack of ethics and integrity in government and the Tory Party. It is not really covering:

    * Corruption: PPE, revolving doors, lobbying

    * Anti-democracy: Avoiding transparency and accountability, allowing conflicts of interest, using double-speak or enacting laws that were not in the manifesto or without due debate (e.g. Academy schools which really means “privatisation of education” which were literally not mentioned in the manifesto but which the Tories tried to push through parliament within days of the election and without any substantive debate)

    * Lies, more lies, yet more lies: Now it is almost the literal truth to say that you know when a Tory politician is lying because their lips are moving.

    * Authoritarianism: Denying the right to peaceful protest, denying the right to strike

    * Destruction of our public services (often to privatise them): NHS, rail, councils being the current targets

    * Fake regulation of privatised services (to allow them to make huge profits at our financial and environmental expense)

    * Unfairness, cruelty, wealth redistribution: For the very very few, not the many. Poverty, starvation, homelessness, food banks, general health regression, hypothermia crisis,

There are probably more – these were just the ones that came to mind off the top of my head.

THESE ARE THE OTHER DEEP ROTS THAT ALSO GO TO THE CORE.
