Those “too small” Cranbrook garages: complaints fall on builders’ deaf ears

From this month’s Cranbrook Herald e-edition.

Builders say that, as there are no national rules, they are free to decide how big garages should be and tough luck if your car doesn’t fit.

Interesting that this appears only on page 17 of the newspaper!

  1. What surprises me is that the developers do not see the long term consequences of both building garages that are too small and responding in the fashion they did in this article.

In the long run, people will learn about the under-sized garages before they buy and stay away. That is not good news for the developers (who will get the same reputation elsewhere too) nor EDDC who want Cranbrook to be a long term success.

Are garage sizes part of the East Devon Design Guides? And if not, why not?
