You may recall that disgraced ex-councillor Brown represented the National Farmers Union (even though he now says he wasn’t a farmer) at the East Devon Business Forum. And now we read of yet another NFU senior official with planning connections in difficulty:

In summary the story is about a member of a planning committee in Devon (not EDDC) who has apparently been charged with growing cannabis.
But the real interesting question (from a theoretical perspective at least) is whether cannabis growing would constitute “farming” if you were seeking to remove the agricultural occupation restriction on your property?
