This is a very interesting(if negative)article ….. The truth is that if people want , and I mean WANT to live a life free of landlords, they have to save and scrape ( just as we did in the early 70’s) for deposits, mortgage et al.
My daughter and her husband, both on meagre, below average salaries saved over £42000 in 6 or 7 years to enable them to step on the first rung of the ladder, having suffered years of damp houses with water ingress from above , through and below.
They had and have the WILL to do it!
People should not be deterred from having an achievable goal, articles like this don’t help!
Oh, and they have two children too!
If people say they can’t do it, then they aren’t trying nearly hard enough…
