If you can’t whip ’em, try seduction! Fifty shades of blue?

Usually well-informed sources tell us that Paul Diviani and Andrew Moulding have been seen together being very, very friendly and obliging to an independent candidate.

Now why should that be, when, as Tory Whip Phil “I’ve never whipped anyone in my life” Twiss memorably said: Independents never do anything useful for their electors?

Is it remotely possible that Paul and Andrew are desperately trying to nobble a few new recruits to make up the Tory losses expected on May 7th?

  1. And to think we thought things could only get better after Randal-Johnson’s time as Leader at EDDC.
The present pairing of Diviani and Moulding have managed to alienate even greater numbers of their former supporters – and even a good few of their normally active party members – if what we hear is true.
There are three common themes that keep coming up when people talk about the forthcoming elections.
    1. Swire has to go and people will put aside any other differences to achieve getting rid of him.
    2. The same for Tories at EDDC, considered it seems as amongst the most rotten of rotten boroughs.
    3. That this is the time for Independents at parliamentary and local government level, for representatives who will remember what they were eleceted for.
It is quite an acheivement to turn such a Tory stronghold into a marginal, maybe we have something to thank Hugo, Diviani and Moulding for after all!
