Will new EDDC Chair be ‘too busy” for the role?

Stuart Hughes, who has been appointed as EDDC Chair, is also a County Councillor. What, then, has changed since Cllr Hughes was sacked from Chairing the Scrutiny Committee after setting up an ‘in-depth study’ into EDDC’s links with the group then known as the East Devon Business Forum?

Note from OWL: As EDWatchers well know, the so-called Business TAFF,  never completed its original task, despite plucky efforts by  Cllr Graham Troman (Con) ( who lost his Sidmouth seat this May).

  1. A comment from a regular EDWatcher:-
BBC Radio Devon – is there a vacancy for leader?

Have you heard this interview between a newly elected (and therefore inexperienced in political terms) Independent Councillor, Cathy Gardiner, and EDDC “Blue Leader”, Paul Diviani, a man surely on top of his brief and fully in control? (Well it was early on Thursday Morning). They debate for 9 mins whether or not EDDC is open and transparent about how it makes decsions with reference to the topic of the moment – “Knowle”.

Which one do you think sounds nervous, querulous and uncertain and which one confident of the argument?
