… that Hugo Swire only seems to visit his constituency on Fridays, crams as many photo ops in as many Tory places and tweets as possible then … that seems to be it till the next Friday.
Claire Wright is here every day, including weekends, battling for the NHS, schools, highways, the environment, planning, flooding …
No wonder Mr Swire bans her from meetings on her ward issues – on a Friday! It must worry him a lot.
At least we know where he was on 17 October:
Presumably by getting some photo ops in on a Friday he can claim his travel down to Devon as a parliamentary expense (first class presumably as befits his Sir-hood – presumably his first class travel prior to his Sir-hood was in the expectation that Dodgy Dave would recognise his “loyalty”).
No – sorry – that makes no sense at all. Since he has stated that coming to Devon is a “visit”, he would not be coming down here at all if it were not for the photo opportunities.
Perhaps it is something as simple as House of Commons business being shorter on Fridays (i.e. not into the evening) so that it gives him the time to travel without missing a vital vote to e.g. support the government’s policy on NHS funding.

The House does not usually sit on Fridays but then the House rarely sits at all – see here for the few weeks MPs actually work: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/House_of_Commons_Recess_Dates

Ah – so that’s why there are certain periods of the year when Hugo Swire is “back home” (sic.) in East Devon (or should that be Mid Devon or London or elsewhere).
However, to be fair MPs only get 1/3 of the year in recess – and most MPs will spend at least 1 or 2 of the 130 recess days on constituency business and limit their use of these days for holiday or extra curricular activities (like the Conservative Middle East Council) to the remainder.
