Excellent film. I have friend who lives in Axminster, due to a road accident and being in Derriford, then Wonford, she has spent weeks in Tiverton; good care but isolated from community. there are no public transport links between the two places. Friends and family visiting aid recovery. Also this situation places enormous stress onto families.
If Seaton or Axminster hospital beds had remained open it would have been hugely beneficial to everybody.
But those making the decisions do not want to know, they do not care.

The Devon Community Hospital bed-cuts issue was the main feature on the BBC lunchtime local news but disappeared from Spotlight at 6.30pm. Instead we had stories about a dog and a shag and some tortoises. (By contrast Ch 4 spent its first 20 minutes on nurse shortages at Churchill Cancer Hospital, Oxford.)
