So the Tories abolished the Audit Commission in 2015 – more importantly WHY?
Turned out well hasn’t it… how many Tory councils are now effectively bankrupt having treated ratepayers money like a spin of the roulette wheel with hugely speculative investments. – Owl
Some of us are canny enough to have predicted this at the time that the Audit Commission was abolished.
In my personal opinion, the abolition of the Audit Commission was a deliberate act of sabotage by the Conservative Government done solely with the intention to reduce (or abolish) local and central government accountability for themselves and their Local Government Conservative Administration colleagues. This was one of many such changes to reduce accountability – it was part of a pattern.
