  1. Well finally EDDC have released at least some of the information into the public domain. Cabinet members will of course have seen a lot of previous information held secret under Part B and may even have had this report released earlier than the statutory deadline for publishing the Cabinet Agenda. However, the public have only just been given the opportunity to study this c. 100 page report, and since the devil is likely to be in the detail as usual, it will need studying with a fine-tooth-comb to really understand the strength and weaknesses of EDDC’s arguments. Is a week really enough to do this justice and to spot the (probably well hidden) weaknesses in the case for the move.

The good news (if there is any in this whole sorry saga), is that this decision only starts a very lengthy process of design, so the decision may not be irrevocable and the new council should have the ability to put a stop to it if so minded.

In which case, why the unseemly hurry to push this decision through before the elections in May?
