1. Not much of an audience of supporters considering the cast. Hugo no doubt glad to be away from the bad news he must be hearing in his own constituency, and in doing so showing he cares more for the party than his electorate.
   Given the crowds Claire Wright has been getting its a very poor show from Hugo and the Tories.
   As for the direction, its down- and out.

2. The Conservatives plan for the SW would have far more credence if:

   a. It was not launched at election time – we don’t want help for the SW only when there is an election in the offing – we want help when we need it; and

   b. Hugo Swire, “visiting ex-MP for East Devon”, had demonstrated that he actually cared about the SW by actually doing SOMETHING, ANYTHING significant for his constituency in the last Parliament.

   SUMMARY: Just another attempted “bribe” of the electorate.
