The Honiton newbuild office is in a “pre-design” phase, councillors were told at last night’s special combined committee meeting ( Overview & Scrutiny, and Audit & Governance). When Cllr Francis Newth brought up the subject of the air pollution problem that exists on the Honiton site, the possibility was raised that air-conditioning might well be needed in the proposed new EDDC office building there. This is an example of just one costly unforeseen detail. Auditors have recommended a contingency reduction to just 15%. Cross your fingers, everyone!
