  1. Interesting take – rather than a negatively slanted ‘competitor’ highlighting the scale of funding different – I see ‘Jurassica’ and a further £60million investment in the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site in Dorset and East Devon as more excellent news. The two sites would compliment each other and reasonably be expected to add to the visitors in our area and further boost the local economy…. isn’t that a rather more positive take??

  2. I guess they thought that calling it Jurrasic Park would be tempting fate – that the animatronic dinosaurs would come to life and start eating the visitors.

  3. Ian may have a point – whilst Jurassica might be a competitor, a smaller market share of a much bigger tourist spend might mean more business rather than less.

Of course, he might also be wrong – and that our straightforward visitor centre may be a bit lacklustre and unimaginative compared to Jurassica.

    • Nearly a compliment Paul, be careful…
In any event, rest assured that Seaton Jurassic will not only be the correct spelling, but will be absolutely nothing like a “lacklustre and unimaginative straightforward visitor centre” – dear me…. A packed house in the Town Hall on the 2nd July were treated to some pretty inspirational stuff from Harry Barton (CEO of the operators Devon Wildlife Trust) and Bernard Dunford (Seaton Visitor Centre Trust), including a first glimpse of some of the truly stunning, innovative experiences Seaton Jurassic and the wider area around Seaton can expect!

Your comment just shows how well you don’t know me – I always give credit where its due.

  4. And if the Seaton Centre is as exciting as you say, it should be able to compete well with Jurassica.

Is the presentation available online anywhere?
