Pickles changing national policies on parking

But will it be enough for Sidmouth residents now facing a 330% increase in their parking charges?

  1. So if EDDC raise the parking charges, in a few months time a petition of 50+ will force them to review the charges and (presumably) to reduce them.

Of course, they still have to get around the restrictive covenants before they can impose ANY parking charges.

  2. Mill Street Sidmouth Permit Car park
EDDC are proposing to remove Mill St. Reserved Space Car Park from the Off Street Parking Civil Enforcement Order. Anybody know what this means? No info on EDDC website. Also includes Northcutts Garage site which is now built on!!!

    • The best person to ask surely would be Sidmouth district and county councillor Stuart Hughes, as he has DCZc respinsibility for Highways.

      • Stuart Hughes doesn’t know; neither does Cllr Newth (whose area the car park is in) who has forwarded my enquiry to EDDC.
Who makes these decisions – it obviously isn’t the elected councillors. So much for democracy.

  3. Seems it is to do with increasing the cost of permits by 300%. But who decided on this? Did the elected councillors get a say?
