Anyone find this story a bit odd? Did no-one realise that birds mate? And how come concern for mating birds in Exmouth and no concern for Horshoe Bats at Knowle?
And when the over-wintering birds have gone north, surely they are replaced by the over-summer birds from the south – and north!
You can tell that the owl is no ornithologist.
I can see that after having a Temporary Closed Notice post on the front of the Mamhead Slipway for the last 3 years, it could have a number of things which would hold any new development up, but sea-gulls would be low on that list.
The cost must have escalated in that time, and no doubt would take every penny which EDDC received for the Elizabeth Hall.
That money we were told would be made a available for Exmouths new slipway and the rest for kick starting the splash.
If we were told the truth EDDC, have had to rethink their whole strategy, since the Rugby ground sale was shelved. The Master Plan for Queens Drive has dramatically changed although they have not admitted the fact that selling what will probably be high value Apartments with sea views, will now be where the main source of capital will now come from, for this long winded £18 Million EDDC Master Plan. It may have many changes made in the next few years, but will never be admitted.
Many of our own Exmouth Councilors are having a headache over it, because they were part of the council voted in power, after telling us that they were against any new large development on Exmouths Sea Front.
