“Councillor Paul Diviani, Leader of EDDC, said: “The British people have spoken and why not? They were asked a question and they have answered it.
As far as I’m concerned it was the right answer because I trust the electorate to get the answer right.”

ER … ONLY WHEN IT AGREES WITH HIM!!!!
If “The Div” really trusted the electorate, then he would listen more to what people say (especially those who disagree with him), he would undertake more comprehensive consultations (and act on what the consultation said), he would bring subjects like devolution to a proper debate in the council chamber (rather than keeping it secret), he would have been far more open about the Knowle papers, …
In short he would be more transparent – after all, if he really trusted the electorate, he would trust them to agree with his decisions and to treat him fairly if they didn’t.
Sadly, yet another political leader who cannot be believed or trusted. (Oh the irony – a leader who says he trusts the electorate but cannot be trusted himself.)
