Why is Swire the only politician to get a column in the Cranbrook Herald?

That’s a question two residents are asking in the latest Cranbrook Herald.

A full page, too. And just a rehash of an item on his blog.

Why indeed.

  1. Has Claire or anyone else asked for a column?

    I guess Hugo thinks that:

    a. Cranbrook Herald is a good tight demographic target, a significant proportion of his constituents, and easy to write for particularly if he can rehash what his wife has already written on his behalf for his blog;

    b. None of the three thorns in his side (Claire, Owl and myself) live in Cranbrook (and probably don’t therefore read the Cranbrook Herald), so he might presume he would get an easy non-controversial ride.

    I guess it is our job to disabuse him of his presumptions.
