Despite assuring people that this would not be a gated community, the statements made were somewhat vague (except, of course, there will be no affordable housing):
Number of homes: undecided
“Most” people expected to be local
Facilities “could be” open to the public
Hmmm …

Pegasus homes recently developed in Cornwall start at around £300,000 for a one bed flat and £600,000 for two beds plus service charge.
The Premier Inn started life with promises allowing the opublic to use their loos, a restaurant and a meeting room. All that is happend as far as I am aware is that there has been a planning application for an extension to storage!
There really ought to be a penalty for departing from the consultation and initial plans.

Why, if PegasusLife wishes the public to have access to the park, did they not support the public’s case in the recent Inspector’s Hearing? (EDDC hired an expensive planning barrister at public expense.)
And, if the public loses its public rights of way at the appeal, access to the park will be only by “permissive” paths, in which case what will PegasusLife do if residents of the retired community object? Will the property then be gated and access to the park closed?
