  1. As usual Hugo is talking complacent nonsense. The more he talks about the way parliament works then more people with brain cells will think about what he means. He is also quite incorrect in his dismissal of Independent MPs. The only relevant individuals in recent years are the anti sleaze campaigner Martin Bell in 1997, who only stood for one term, and NHS campaigner Dr Richard Taylor, who won in 2001 and 2005 before being defeated by a tory in 2010. So 100% of recent Independents do not conform to Hugo’s dismissal of ‘the majority’, and I feel that few would doubt their effectiveness while representing their constituents and issues. If he can’t even be bothered to get his facts right when fighting for his political life, how can we expect him to bother when representing us? Certainly my experience, when providing supportive evidence for a campaign he claimed to spearhead on behalf of the community, suggested he was creating a facade behind which was little interest or substance.I can’t wait to see the back of him.
