Report on Spotlight just now. People unable to get through to police non-emergency 101 number because it was being used for internal police administration:

Hernandez refused to appear on the programme simply saying that she had “challenged the Chief Constable to make significant improvement to the length of time the public take to get through to someone”.
Well, that’s alright then.
Recall that Hernandez and the Chief Constable are currently under investigation by other forces – Hernandez for alleged electoral expenses violations in Torbay and the Chief Constable for unguarded remarks during a TV interview.
Hernandez has been banned by the Police and Crime Panel for making political statements. Presumably, this has left her almost mute.
What an utter waste of space and money she is

I trust those who regret voting for her can look in the mirror and say, “You are a fool” and mean it. The woman is a waste of public money , and space too!

Unfortunately, those too stupid to consider seriously the strengths of the candidates and mindlessly voting Tory are unlikely to be the type of people to spend time analysing their own previous choices.
They are much more likely to be people who are happy in their own day-to-day worlds, who don’t really question the probity of politicians, who probably see all politicians as equally good or bad at running things, who believe that democracy is only about casting a vote in an election once every few years, and who believe that the Conservatives are the party who made them happy and will keep them happy. They are what I call Zombie votes – who will vote for any candidate with a blue rosette because that is a whole lot easier than actually having to find out about the candidates and make an evaluated decision. They don’t really look and see what is going on around them, they believe the lies they are told by the majority party and by the press barons’ mouthpieces, they dismiss anyone else’s views as extreme anti-establishment propaganda, and they are quite happy in their own bubble.
Why would any of these types actually stop and consider whether their previous choices were good or bad – they cast their vote and they have switched their attention to more enjoyable or pressing day-to-day activities without looking back.
