- Beech trees between the woodland and neighbours garden – Tree tag 3435 with multiple stems and an adjacent beech tree which is untagged, we are applying to remove the remaining 3 stems and an adjacent beech tree. In tagged tree 3435 Ganoderma decay fungi bracket on stem base path side. Indicates white rot decay of basal heartwood. No pronounced hollow resonance. No visible stem bleeds. Crown vitality is good. Crowns are balanced. Untagged tree has Kretschmaria deusta decay fungi fruiting bodies in base which causes a brittle fracture of stem wood. No hollow resonance in lower stem, crown vitality is good. Crown weighted along boundary line. All stems recommended to remove due to the poor condition of the trees and the location near houses. No replanting is required as the trees will coppice. This will allow us to re-establish a balanced canopy structure enabling the tree to develop a more uniform canopy shape.
