It happened here, too , in what is now the Magnolia centre,Exmouth.
A pub called the Volunteer Inn disappeared one weekend after local people suggested it ought to be listed.
However there was no such backlash at the time….. The conservative district council wanted the Magnolia Centre to be built, and at that time, nobody stood in the way of Councillor Ted Pinney , council chair from Sidmouth….. They removed granite paving edging in Exmouth and replaced it with concrete, removing the granite to Sidmouth… Nothing ever changes!
