Knowle sold to Pegasus today

Interesting that they would take it on without planning permission (or maybe it is an option to purchase dependent on planning permission ) …. but presumably they assume it will be a straightforward formality which will be rubber-stamped when the time comes.

  1. When Outline Planning Permission was sought for the Knowle in mid-2013, there were a lot of objections raised (over 4,000 attended a protest march, and over 1,600 made formal planning objections) and the Development Management Committee refused planning permission.

But fortunately for EDDC and Pegasus Life – and unfortunately for the rest of us – in a sneaky move in May of this year, the council changed its constitution so that the DMC can no longer refuse planning permission (regardless of the technical reasons for doing so), must now refer the application to Full Council for a decision (where the Tory zombie councillors – who will vote the way they are told regardless of the subject – will vote it through).

The bell is already tolling for the Knowle – as they say on death row, “Dead Man Walking”.
